Diminishing Physical activities

We pound treadmills, cross train, draw up diet charts, all in the hope of keeping our bodies fit and our muscles supple. How about the brain, ask the new age mind gurus. Does fitness stop with the body alone? The brain – fed on a diet of non – stop entertainment and information - is often content to drift along doing mundane and regular tasks the mundane and regular way. This has led to dull minds that are unable to think creatively or feel energized. Routine activities are so automatic, that they are done subconsciously and passively, right through the day or late into the night.

Double Helix

A molecule of DNA consists of two strands that resemble a ladder twisted into a spiral configuration that is referred to as a “double helix”. Each strand of DNA consists of a linear arrangement of units called nucleotides, which are composed of one of DNA, are held together by weak bonds between the nitrogenous bases, forming base pairs. There are some three billion base pairs of DNA. A gene is a specific sequence of these nucleotide bases, ranging from fewer than one thousand bases to several million. Each gene provides the information necessary to produce proteins that are responsible for individual human traits.

Key capacity control measures

Design capacity, because a theoretical ideal level of output assuming no stoppages whether planned or unplanned. Effective capacity, the maximum output that can be achieved in a specified time based on a known level of available resources and taking planned stoppages into account. Utilization, actual output divided by design capacity, expressed as a percentage measures the level of design capacity used. Efficiency, actual output divided by effective capacity, expressed as a percentage. This key control measures helps us to calculate the capacity of the efficiency. Productivity, a rate of output in relation to a measure of resource used for example ten widgets per man-hour.

Acupressure while waiting for dentist

Toothache does not usually go away on its own for long, so it is best to see a dentist as soon as you can arrange it. However, while you are waiting, try gently stimulating what traditional Chinese doctors call the ying xiang acupressure points on each side of the nostrils. Do so for two to three minutes three times daily. For extra effect, also work the di cong points for the same amount of time three times daily. These are on the edge of the mouth. These acupressure points are below the nose and slightly near the mouth where you can do some first aid steps.

Being assertive

If you believe that everybody has the right to interrupt you and that you cannot say no, then you will always fall victim to other people’s demands on your time. Being assertive is behind many of the suggestions for dealing with interruptions. Assertiveness is standing up for your rights without disregarding the basic rights of others. By being assertive you are fair to yourself and others. Stand up for your rights and your point of view. Let other people know where you stand. Learn to be assertive when you are not afraid of revealing your feelings to others. You want to achieve a win or win situation. You have developed some skills and confidence. People are stealing your time.

Implementing the improvement

Careful thought needs to be given to how to implement any improvement. Here are three major options, big bang, if change has to happen all at once. This may require a lot of resources if the improvement is significant and is a high risk strategy, so have a contingency plan. Pilot or trial, trial locations or wearer trials pr pilot schemes or pilot systems, etc, allow you to learn from real experience and improve before final implementation. Phased roll out, if the change affects many locations or areas of the business then a staggered or phased approach may be best. This makes good use of constrained resources, allowing an improvement task force team to implement a standard solution one location at a time. Pilot schemes usefully precede this approach.

Standing still is not an option

Your operation must adapt and improve continuously. The reason why so is, new competitors arrive all the time. As you have a lot of competition your product should be up to the mark that all the customers would be satisfied. Then only it will result in your growth. New products arrive daily, so there is lot of products emerging everyday, you should not thing about their progress, and you should work for the development of your product to achieve your target. Customers become more demanding. Costs must go down, revenue up. Increasing pressure for more with less. Increasing automation and use of IT. All this means rapid change.

Treat others how you want to be treated

This is one of the first lessons that your mother will thought to you, and it is probably the most important. You may have heard of the law of attraction, which states that what we project to the world will be sent right back to us. This means you must decide what qualities are important to you, because you cannot receive what you do not give. Personally, do not think you can go past honesty, loyalty and integrity as a foundation for choosing friends. Be considerate. Do not make plans you will not keep. Be a safe haven for your friends, someone they can rely on. Do you just want some laughs every now and then, or people who will be there for you when life throws you a curve ball.

Establish targets

Capacity measures give you a basis for adjusting your resources in order to increase efficiency, etc. but what targets should be set and what are the danger signs? Efficiency, aim for 100% you should be working to drive all unplanned stoppages out of your operation. Utilization, unlikely efficiency, we cannot suggest a target that would be suitable for all operations. Consider the utilization of airline check-in operations. Checking in economy customers on a trans-Atlantic flight during the summer has very high utilization, long queues and delays go hand in hand with this. Contrast this to the lower utilization of check in operators dealing with first class passengers, who expect short queues and attentive service. Generally, over time utilization rises. Finance managers often push for 100% but seasoned operations managers resist strongly.

Fever

Besides sponging down with lukewarm(never cold) water, and the color therapists’ favorite – blue or green pillowcases, sheets and duvet covers for the cooling effect of those colors’ wavelengths (avoid red and yellow ones) – try the homeopathic ABC. Since Children’s fevers can peak fast, give every fifteen minutes until the fever subsides. It is used for temperature and aches and pains as a natural alternative to Calpol. Helios has an all in one combination for feverish children where A is for Aconite, B for Belladonna and C for Chamomilla. Fever causes many problems, so you have to prevent it before it comes.
